Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has directed Chief Officers to ensure suppliers doing business with the County Government are paid. The Governor direction is meant to restore confidence in doing business with the County Government.
Several departments are grappling with unpaid bills amounting to hundreds of millions of shillings, some inherited from the former administration.
The Chief Officers were also directed to offer quarterly briefs for public dissemination. The briefs are meant to update Kajiado Residents about the progress of development programmes in various departments.
The governor further directed Chief Officers to ensure, their staff are motivated enough to offer the best of their service to the public. This direction by the governor is a welcome move, especially in the case of environment workers who regularly complain of poor working conditions without proper safety tools and late payment of wages.
