Elveza Media last week received record calls from Ngong residents who complained over vehicles blocking safe walking grounds for pedestrians who are now being forced to risk their lives by walking on the road.
A lady who identified herself as Jecintah said vehicles have now taken over from street traders. She pointed out the stretch from Baclays bank towards Ngong Post Bank and the new Shade butchery parking area.
Mzee Kihara said there is more than enough parking spaces in Ngong Town. He further said the county government should open up all the feeder roads within Ngong town and provide security for vehicle owners.
Mzee Kihara sentiments were supported by a Mr Aguru who said security concerns is the reason vehicle owners avoid back streets. He concluded by saying provision of secure parking spaces will generate more revenue for the county Government and attract more visitors and investors in the Town.
Currently, a reasonable number of vehicles are parked in Ngong bus park which may be sealed off during the construction of the new modern Ngong market.
A reasonable number of callers requested for the right of pedestrians to be respected.
