Work at Ngong stadium will resume soon following a meeting between the contractor and the County government of Kajiado recently.
According to CECM Alvin Kimani (Youth, Sports, Gender and Social Services) the works to complete the stadium had stopped due to consultancy issues. Kimani further confirmed the stadium will be completed by June 2019.
Speaking on behalf of the contractor, Engineer Wanjohi told our reporter they are waiting for payment from the county government anytime from now in order to resume work. Responding to our reporters query on who will foot the bill of re-doing some of the work which had already been done but fell apart following the recent heavy rains, Engineer Wanjohi said it is yet to be confirmed who will foot the bill estimated to be Ksh500,000-600,000.
Ngong stadium is estimated to cost 200 Million Shillings and will have a sitting capacity of 8,000.
