EVICTION NOTICE: Container Owners Given 24hrs Notice to Vacate Road Reserve

The County Government of Kajiado today issued, a 24hrs notice of demolition to all containers and illegal structures in Ngong Ward.  The notice states that the containers and structures on road reserves illegally will be demolished without further notice.

Structures and Containers claimed to be in Ngong cemetery land

This directive was given by Kajiado Governor Hon. Joseph Ole Lenku during last month Q&A session in Ngong Town.  Governor Lenku responded following complaints from a section of Oloolua and Ngong residents who said the containers were obstructing flood water.

Other residents complained the land where the containers are is part of Ngong cemetery.  The notice was signed by Kajiado North Sub-County Administrator Solomon Kereku.

Francis Kariuki who is a carpenter said the eviction notice came at a time when his family is grieving following the death of his grandmother.

Some of the business owners along Oloolua road requested the County Government to reconsider the evictions since small business owners will be affected the most.  Francis Kariuki who is a carpenter said 24 hrs was not enough notice.

Catherine Wawira requested the County Government to allocate the alternative land where they can set up their businesses
