Kajiado County Governor Hon. Joseph Ole Lenku last Friday the 13th April during the Q&A session at Citam Ngong said, the revenue collected by the County Government has gone up. He said money used to be stolen in the last administration and that was one reason why so many projects were left pending. Today his government is collecting between 5 to 10 Million shillings daily in comparison to between 500,000 to 1,000,000 shillings daily during the previous administration.
Our reporter spoke to various residents of Kajido North regarding the issue and the following are some of the comments they made;
Peter (Ngong) said “That is good news and I hope the trend of sealing loopholes to steal money by corrupt officials is completely done”.
Simon (Mathare) said “I give the governor credit for confirming that money was indeed stolen, meaning he has evidence. Can his government start procedures to recover the money from the culprits”.
Mama Hassan (Bulbul) said “This is good news but let’s wait until we see the projects implementations on the ground because at the end of the day that is what matters.
